Start with the exposure, not the rendering

Outdoor addresses sites where the return point is outside a conditioned interior or close to an open approach. A covered walkway and an unsheltered forecourt are different engineering cases. Specify the exact position before choosing a cabinet or shelter: rainfall, wind-driven water, sun, temperature swings, condensation, drainage and access security all affect the design.

Define the installation boundary

A site survey should record the shelter, foundation or fixing method, power protection, connectivity, service clearance and safe approach for users and collectors. The responsible installer confirms utilities and environmental ratings for the selected configuration. No visual concept should be read as a certified weather or vandal-resistance rating.

Plan for a fault when no one is nearby

Name the team that receives an unavailable or full-station signal, the time window in which it can respond and how a closed station is communicated to visitors.
